Script Changes and Demo Begins

Just a small update for the first update~!

We're finalizing the final stages of the script for the initial 6 characters available in DDR. Once that's finalized we're beginning the main work on the demo today. It should take about 1-2 days for other small things. We do still need a few music pieces and some ambience for all areas of the game, but gathering that together should only take a little bit. We're looking to have a major portion of any "grunt" level work finished today, tomorrow and Friday, and will be spending a great deal of time on Saturday and Sunday actually hammering out some real work.

Unfortunately the 9-5 does take up a lot of our time from Monday to Friday, but with the weather getting warmer in our area, we expect that the day job should be slow, so we'll be devoting any and all free time to getting the demo out.

We are also considering a kickstarter. We had always planned on looking at some source of crowd funding, but we could never decide on what we thought was a fair price to have the game made. We want voice actors to be paid, but right now we have a Behind The Voice Actors audition page set up for anyone who's okay with basically "volunteering" their voices for their character, with the stipulation that it could become paid work overnight if the crowdfunding is successful. In order for it to be worthwhile for the voiceactors, we are looking at a hefty sum of nearly $15,000, so it's difficult for us to agree on asking for that amount. A friend of mine mentioned if we were porting the game to steam when it's finished, and I'd really like to do that, but there is a $100 price attached to that as well. He suggested just crowdfunding for the $100 to get the game on steam, and I kind of love this idea.

We don't want to ask for too much, but as my mother always reminds me, we also don't want to sell ourselves short. But the great thing that I sometimes struggle to remind myself of is that I can ask for a free as small as $100, and we could still overshoot that by $10,000. It's all about marketing, plugging DDR whenever and wherever we can, and hoping for the best.

Alrighty. So, again, finalizing scripts, making a few songs, and then throwing together the actual demo. Excited for the next 2 weeks!
