I've had concerns with the title of the game since I decided it's what I wanted to go with. I felt that Doki Doki Rainbow had a ring to it, but I was concerned with people making correlations to DD Literature Club. This isn't wanted ended being the case. In fact, too many people were also using a similar titling scheme for their dating sim/visual novels, and I just found that I didn't like how many other games similar to mine I was finding that were also using "Doki Doki" in the title. And there were a lot.

So, rebranding has occurred. The game is now called Rainbow Heartbeats. Nothing else is changing other than the logo at this point, as the idea of the game is still for it to be a dating sim/visual novel type game.

Due to some workplace issues at my day job, I've been... to put it most simply, depressed. I've mentally checked out of working there after I was the only one out of 15 people they temporarily laid off early last year when my province locked down from COVID, but they find new ways every day to make me hate working there. It's difficult to chose between continuing to damage your mental health, and being able to afford to put food on the table, but obviously the choice I have to make means that I suffer in unseen ways. 

As a result, I've neglecting doing a lot with Rainbow Heartbeats, because I can't bring myself to be emotionally invested enough to put real work into it. I do understand that the longer it takes to develop the longer the game takes to release. So hopefully I don't take too much longer, but it's precisely this reason why I don't have set release dates for the demo, or the game. Not being tied to the deadlines of a publisher has it's benefits in some cases.

So for now, I'm not going to make any guarantee's on when the demo will be out. I was hoping end of March, but it needs to be pushed back due to my lack of motivation to actually move the project thanks to my problems with my job.
