The home stretch for the demo!

I hammered out a few quick things today to help push the demo closer to the finish line. Have any of you seen Sk8 the Infinity? When Langa is learning how to ride early on and is just standing on the board? That's the demo. And when he asks Reki to push him and Reki goes "oh boy" and goes and pushes him? That's me, hahaha.

Opalizard used quick update! It was super effective!

  1. Text message graphics have been completed for the demo.
  2. Onny's 3 art pieces have been completed (poorly) by me. I am not an honor art student, and it shows. And I also don't care. I may get these pieces commissioned later in this games life, but that's neither here nor there right now.
  3. Some characters get text messages during your conversations with them. Each character who get's one has their own personalized text jingle for their phone.
  4. The music that plays when you're at work has been changed to avoid copyright infringement from Windows, because I thought I was funny at one point.
  5. The library music and school music was switched because neither seemed right for what they were originally made for.
  6. Your Sampod phone now has noises that all match for various settings, like activating it, pressing a back button, getting a notification, etc, rather than random noises from what I had to make and what I could find for free under the CC license on the internet. Because continuity matters.
  7. All side characters and animal characters needed for the demo have been complete with expressions and possible weapons (??? I thought this was funny, laugh dang it).
  8. 5 new location arts have been completed and added and my hand absolutely hasn't shriveled up and fallen off and most definitely isn't buried respectively in a cemetery somewhere.
  9. In cute news we got a new budgie and he's hand tame (his soon to be partner absolutely is not, thanks big box pet stores) and I would die for him.

Next up is to complete the character art for a character who wasn't intended to be included until a later update, because he's needed for Izumi's story. I figured I may as well just do his entire character now, since it's all the same anyway. After that, I'll be implementing the new changes, audio, visual, etc, as right now I either have placeholders set up, or nothing at all for where certain characters and art should be. I'll also need to code in new interactions for one of the side characters, because it's required for a story route.

I'm not making any promises but this should be complete before the end of the month, and then I can get to play testing. Which potentially means the demo could be out before we take our annual camping trip at the beginning of August. Saying I'm excited is an understatement.

Until next time!
