Welcome to January! Demo Launch!

One more month and it will have been 1 year since I started these Devlogs. This is also the month I hope things can finally move forward with releasing the game, but you won't know that until I release this hehe.

  1. As mentioned there were some issues with the games save/new game function. Saving worked perfectly but my play testers had issues with the saves not being wiped whenever they started a new game. I've applied a bunch of different fixes to try and get this working, so hopefully the latest round has done this. After that, I don't believe there are any other main issues to tangle with, so once the new game function is confirmed as working, I believe I might be on the right track for release, which means that the trailer needs to be completed! We might be releasing the demo this month, which would be a great way to kick off 2022.
  2. An even BETTER way to kick of 2022 started with my fiancé testing positive for COVID. Nothing we could have avoided. They started a new job and was sent home when a few cases broke out at their work. It was required to get the rapid testing done to return but it looks like they tested positive, so we get to spend the next week or two working from home together. I had originally typed here that I didn't have any symptoms, but a day later, I tested positive and had symptoms immediately. It sucked pretty hard. I'm going on day 14 of coughing and congestion and I am more tired than I have ever been in my life.
  3. We discovered that the problem with loading/saving/new game was due to some issues with a previous version that one of my play testers was given. I'm not sure exactly what has happened, whether the save was bugged and refuses to let go like a clingy dog, or if the trouble is just with how my play tester is installing/removing old/new versions but the newest version works perfect for me. The newest version was tested on multiple other computers and functions properly. So I guess I'll just have to wait for feedback from other players. In the meantime, I'm probably going to snoop around on their computer at some point to try and eliminate the problem (with permission of course), because this play tester was the most responsive and found the most bugs and I really valued their feedback.
  4. After multiple days of attempting to test the game, there doesn't seem to be any other huge errors. Saving/loading works, all other functions seem to work fine. So, carefully, I've finalized the trailer, second devlog video, and have set up the site to release the demo ASAP.
  5. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know if you find any bugs, can't progress, or would like help. :)
