Voice Acting and Linework!

Today marks the day I finished all background concept arts! 5-6 days into the jam isn't too impressive (I don't know, maybe that is impressive??), but there are about 25 different location art pieces to do, not including the variations needed for 2-3 of them. So that's not too bad just for the concepts, both background and all character/side characters, and a full 3 minute long soundtrack song.

I realized that in my eagerness to get the background concepts done, I left Danny bald for some of his pose concepts, so I have to go back to do that, and then I'll get started on his line work, haha.

In other exciting news, it's been 3 days since I put up my BTVA project for getting voice actors and I have 10 auditions between 2 characters! Some are from the same people split between both characters, but that's still awesome. I'll probably wait until the end of the week to choose and then will close everything up. I'd like to have the voice acting done ASAP so that I'm not waiting on lines and can integrate as soon as I can, so that also gives me time to open things back up if the actor I chose falls through, or ghosts me.

This 2 month, scary scary dead-line game jam is going better than my first game Rainbow Heartbeats is going, and I don't know whether or not I should be thankful, or mad, haha. It's been smooth sailing so far, so I'm just going to stick with thankful to keep the momentum going.

Updates from here on out will likely be tied with updating concept arts. As I mentioned in the previous devlog, I won't be adding any other images to the page unless they are expressly replacing the concepts I already have up, mostly because I don't want the entire game on display, and would like to save some mystery. Other announcements will include when voice actors are chosen, and things like soundtrack and final-design updates, and when the actual crunch for coding and integration begins.

Happy game jamming fellow jammers!
