Ichiban, late nights, sprites - Oh my!


I am shoveling instant noodles into my mouth haphazardly as I type this, hence the title "ichiban". I forgot I was on-call at my day job today and yesterday. So I don't get paid for yesterday, I started early today, and have made a complete fool of myself in the meantime! In over 2 years at this job, I have never completely forgotten about an on-call shift before, mostly because I hate them and I ensure to prioritize the time I have before them to the point where I'm too stressed to NOT remember. So I'm stuck on call in my office with a very upset stress-induced migraine and life would be better if it didn't revolve around money being the only thing keeping me alive.


ANYWAY. Each. And. Every. Sprite. For Danny, and his facial expressions, are finished. I decided to keep a before and after for the screenshots I have on the main page just because I like looking at the before and after haha. I hope you all do too. I have stayed up past 2 am every day for the past 4 days to get these done so I could work on the other sprites and the backgrounds ASAP. That doesn't seem like much of an issue, especially because I work at 11 am. But I'm up at 7-8 am every day to get work done on all of my projects before my day job, so, to put it simply. I'm real tired. 

Next I'll work on the other character sprites, once they're done it's on to backgrounds, sounds/music, and UI. I've also updated the game's main image to include a sprite from the fabled  s e c r e t   e n d i n g. I think I'll be able to push through the remaining sprites for side characters and at least do a good half-2/3's of the background images before the week is up. I'll definitely have all the backgrounds done before I go camping at the end of the month, and then from there it's smooooooth sailing.



Oh, who am I kidding. It's programming. When has that ever gone smooth for anyone.
