Sprites for Daniel and the outline

So! Exciting! I've never done a game jam. I joined two, decided to drop out of one because they ran simultaneous to one another. In conjunction with the work I'm doing on a bigger project, it was also too much. I had been planning on doing something with this game idea for a while, but it really just sat with an empty file folder for a couple of weeks. Pushing it out for a game jam is just perfect.

I started with the outline. It's almost 40 pages and about 17,500 words, and includes different dialogue options for the player. Right now, there aren't different reactions from Daniel's character, I'm not sure if I'll work those in at all, or ever, honestly.

I consider it complete at this time. If I have the time to work in additional dialogue for Daniel's character to respond to the options the player has available, I'll work it in with additional consequences and/or reactions.

I've spent the day working on Daniel's various sprites, including a unique pose for each scene in the game. Once his sprite concepts are finished, I'll be working on the sprites for side characters and then background art concepts. There are just under 30 different background arts that need to be completed, including variations, but excluding menu art. There are secret plants for the menu art, and I haven't worked out the math for it yet, but that is exciting too.

I also finished one of the main themes as well for the soundtrack. Not sure where I'll be putting that, using it throughout or at the end credits, or for the menu.

Next stop,  more drawing! I've added some of the work in progress sketches to the main page in show of actual work being done.
